How to permanently delete apps from my iPhone?

I can’t delete any apps from my phone. Yes they are not built in. No I don’t have any screen time restrictions or content restrictions. I can only remove apps from the Home Screen (add them to App Library) but I can’t permanently delete anything even if I go into storage settings and try to delete an app that way. Can’t find any answers on other forums. This phone used to have content restrictions which I suspect is the issue but have since all been removed.

Figured it out with the help of this YouTube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXlcNnfroxo

it was a setting that was set to not allow app deletion. No idea why it was set to don’t allow.

Re: How to permanently delete apps from my iPhone?

We can not guess which iPhone model you have and which iOS version is installed.

See whether the method below works on your iPhone:

Delete an app from App Library and the Home Screen:

Touch and hold the app in App Library, tap Delete App, then tap Delete.

(See Find your apps in App Library.)

(For iOS 18 or choose your correct iOS version at top of article)

Great! Thank you for replying and providing more info. It is people like you who can make a difference.

If, after restarting your iPhone, you continue to experience this issue:

Please send feedback to Apple. Although it won't help immediately, and they will likely not reply, your feedback will reach those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple. If others are experiencing similar issues, and Apple gets to see which devices and iOS versions are affected, we may get to see an update that addresses the issue. Figured out my issue. I had previously used a third party screen time manager and even tho I had fully disabled it, because it was still linked to my screen time settings it had some background restriction of some sort. By removing the apps link to settings it fixed it. (Didn’t need to delete the app, just need to unlink it)
