When texting to certain users on the Android platform, it automatically uses SMS rather than RCS, while other times it is strictly RCS. Updating temporarily fixes it, but it immediately reverts back afterwards.

After updating my phone to iOS 18.2, the same issue still is present. I have tried resetting my network settings, force restarting, and starting new threads, but none seem to work. I also have checked my carrier settings (which can be found be going to Settings -> General -> About -> Carrier) and it says it supports Voice, SMS, and RCS through Verizon 61.1. I am unsure whether it is due to software from Apple or Verizon, but regardless it is impressive that this issue seems to have been unresolved, even after the latest update.
