I am unable to access my purchased iTunes songs on Android without paying monthly

Why do I now have to pay $10+ per month to listen to my I-tunes library, purchased over the years, on my Android phone? I must be missing something.

Unable to access my music I purchased a lot of music from iTunes and I can't access them. I've never had Apple Music and I never will. I don't agree with paying for something or subscriptions every month as I can't justify it. So why can't I play my music that I have built up for 20+ years

iTunes purchases unavailable after subscribing to Apple Music I was on the phone with Apple support for about an hour today. Evidently, if you have bought a song on ITunes , and later get an Apple Music subscription - sync the libraries, if the Artist or publisher pulls the song from Apple Music, you lose the ability to play the song on your devices. Is there a was to retrieve ITunes purchases from 2003 that are no longer available on Apple Music?
