Files transferred from PC to Mac Mini with Migration Assitant do npt show up in Finder--apps on Mac cannot find them

I just transferred a massive amount of files from my old PC to my new Mac Mini using Migration Assistant, The transferred files do not show up in Finder, and my programs cannot find the files. I can find the files on my internal ssd, and can also find them with Spotlight. I can even open them using the "open with" command. The user account set up during the transfer appears to be pointed at my external ssd, but that drive does not contain any files. The Migration Assistant put all the files on my internal ssd (I was not given a choice of where to put the files). What to do? Neither of my user accounts can find the files. I created a test file and saved it--it was saved to my external ssd. If I move all the files to my external ssd will they become findable?

When you use MA it creates a new user account. Please log out of your normal user account, then log into the new user account and your files should be there. By the way, when you migrated did you do so when you started up the MM for the first time and used Setup Assistant or did you run Migration Assistant after you had finished Setup Assistant?

Your initial post left out these important details so we don't know how you executed your migration.
