iCloud apps on Windows 10: 'Cannot retrieve device list' after update

I'm using Windows 10 on my laptop. After the iCloud app was updated, it could not find my device and wanted me to confirm my account information. I had no problems with iCloud apps until after I updated them, and my account information remained the same for years. I checked my Apple ID, and my devices are still there. I did sign out and sign back in three times. What's wrong? Am I missing something, or do I have to do something? Can anybody tell me what's going on here?

I would appreciate it if anybody could help me.

Thanks,

I have Windows 11 and the iCloud app. I have recently been unable to sync photos from iCloud to my PC. My iCloud app also gives me the message "Your Devices - Cannot retrieve the device list, please confirm your account Information." However I am not sure what this message means, and I never checked if it did or did not appear when iCloud was syncing.
