Available iPad updates not showing on MacBook Air being used to update it

8th Gen Ipad with only 32gb of storage set to automatically install updates. For many updates I do not have enough space and I have been doing them by connecting iPad to my MacBook Air. Just a few days ago I saw that updates 17.7.2 and 18.1.1 were available. I connected to Mbook Air and did the Check for Update and it told me I was at the current version which made zero sense as I was looking at two updates on the iPad.

Noticed that the 17.7.2 was small and I did that one from the iPad successfully. I thought maybe the update including reboot might clear something out. No such luck, 18.1.1 showing as Unable to download on iPad and Mb Air does not recognize an available update.

Anyone have any ideas out there? This update says it needs 13.14GB on the Ipad which I have maybe half of that available. Thanks for any help.

iPad, iPadOS 17
