I’ve tried over and over and iPad still won’t backup. Says “Can’t complete backup. No explanation.

Have you sufficient iCloud storage for your backup? Unless you have a paid iCloud+ subscription, you will only have 5GB of iCloud storage - this typically only being adequate for basic synchronisation services. Paid iCloud storage tiers of 50GB, 200GB, 2TB and greater are available:

Have you tried to restrat the iPad to see if the issues persist?
Thank you for the suggestion. While I have already power cycled my iPad, I repeated that procedure. My iPad did not backup to the Cloud. Same message: “The last backup could not be completed.”
Thank you for your reply. I have 50 GB of iCloud storage and I have used only 29 GB.
