Apple doesn’t need to send text messages. They have other ways of getting your attention.
If Apple detects an issue, they’ll block your logins on their servers pending a reset or remediation.
Apple changed their terminology recently, and calls it an “Apple Account”. No longer an “Apple ID”.
That’s not a telephone number associated with Apple. It was a trucking company until recently. Or maybe still is.
Block and move on.
As for steps you can take to better secure your Apple Account and your data stored with Apple, ensure two-factor authentication is enabled, and if there’s a possibility your password was re-used or was compromised, change it.
