iPad Air M2 getting hot while using Notes app with Apple Pencil

Recently, I bought the latest iPad Air M2 11-inch along with the Apple Pencil Pro, and I have been using it just for note-taking. I noticed that while I use the Notes app for note-taking with the Apple Pencil Pro, the iPad gets super hot around the camera area. It gets so hot that I can't touch the surface, and I have to stop using the i pad for a couple of minutes until it cools down. If I try to write again, it gets extremely hot within minutes. Dear Apple please fix your note app as soon as possible.

Couldn't figure out obsidian but I tried the drawing app from Apple, Freeform, and after A few sentences it got warm, and a few paragraphs down the pencil mount area was too hot to touch. Note taking was the main reason I upgraded so this is a $900 problem .

This is not good! Have you tried to force restart the iPad to see if the issues persist?

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button closest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button until the device begins to restart.

I have the same problem, it gets hot on both sides about where the pencil mount is. I shut it off for A few minutes and then back on when it cooled and for a minute that spot started heating up again, but it cooled back down once it was fully booted. I also tried writing for awhile in Google keep and while that spot got a little warm, it didn't get so hot that you couldn't touch it like it does with Apple notes. I'll try the drawing app.

I took mine to get serviced. It was only a week old, and the set it up in-store so they couldn’t blame me or suggest a factory reset.

Turns out the the motherboard, or something, was “unstable” so I’m exiting for them to mail me a new one and I plan to go back to an Apple Store to get the new one tested, even if it doesn’t have the same problem.
