I cant recall my new Nov 2024 mac mini password, cant get mouse to connect via bluetooth (so cant click ‘?’), and holding down command-R doesnt reset the mac mini when i restart. How else can i find or reset my device password?

Start by getting yourself a wired USB keyboard and mouse set to use in a time like this. Very often a Bluetooth connection can't/won't be made quickly enough to trigger alternate startup modes.
