Cannot edit Contacts

Sequoia. I created a new Group (list) and I can't edit the name of the group. I can change the name but it doesn't stick. In checking I see I can change the list name on my iPhone. I see I can also delete a name from the list on the phone but not on Sequoia. (I guess that shows what has been coming for years)

My contacts also aren't syncing. I have had list for years (decades) and they aren't showing up on my Mac Mini. They show up on my MBA and iPhone.

All three devices are on same iCloud account, the one I've had for years.

Notes are syncing. Messages appear on all three devices.

I can't say the Mini is perfect. Every restart seems to take three or four logins and tens of minutes between the logins.

Update: after changing the name of the list originally created on MBA on my iPhone, the list appeared on my Mini. But the 18 lists aren't showing up. Three lists are on both iPhone and Mini and seem to be in sync. At least the number cards in each are the same.

But Contacts has been flaky for a while. To do editing other than individual cards on my MBA, I had to launch Contacts with the Shift key held down, but that isn't even working now. Also probably because Contacts start syncing too soon some edits disappear and spinning beach ball appears.

That sounds like something else significant is not right with your setup. It should boot and login in a few tens of seconds, total.

You could download the free Etrecheck and post the report when you run it here using the Additional text button below, for diagnosing the issue(s).
