Mac OS 15.1.1 update keeps failing

Hi there, first post on the support forums.

So I've tried to update my Macbook Pro (2019 model, currently running Sequoia 15.1) about six times since the update was released and it has failed every time. The first five times, the fans started kicking on like it was actually doing something, but it got stuck at "30 Minutes Remaining" for a while until it finally gave me an "Error downloading update - check internet connection" pop-up. My internet connection is fine, I've tried it on two different networks, and I have adequate storage space, so I don't think that's the problem.

Last time I tried to update it (yesterday afternoon), it stalled at 30 minutes again, but then had a kernel panic. I haven't tried to update it since.

I've seen a few other people online mention that they are having the same issues (with the kernel panic as well as the error message) but I haven't seen any fixes. Is this something where I just have to keep trying until it works? I'd prefer not to be doing this over and over if it's going to keep giving me kernel panics. Anybody else having the same problem and manage to get it to work?

You can reboot into a Safeboot mode and try again >System Settings>General>Software update

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

or via a different route:
