I’ve been on multiple links and it appears you can, but when I try and follow the directions they are usually old and don’t provide the correct info.
if it is possible can some one let me know how, or a good current link to follow.

If you mean “can the iPad be a hub for a smart home” (like a HomePod or an Apple TV), the answer is no. An iPad using iPadOS 18 cannot be used as a hub. It used to be possible in earlier versions of iPadOS but this no longer the case.
