Well, darn it, the problem with accessing iPhone Apps set to open using Facial ID when accessing these apps via the iPhone Mirroring.app on my Mac persists.
Using the iPhone Mirroring.app, I navigate to Notes which I have set up on my iPhone to require Facial Recognition to open.
What I get looks exactly like the screenshot I sent with my original email, except this one says [Notes] not [Health], at the same time my watch buzzes and displays [Double Click to Approve].
I double click on the watch button, and the Mirrored iPhone says [Try Passcode Again]. I repeat the attempt but it fails. I can’t access Notes from iPhone Mirroring. I tried inputting my 5-digit iPhone PIN on iPhone Mirroring and it is rejected.
Next, as a test, I open my iPhone, go to Notes, place my finger over the notch to block the camera, tap on Notes, and get [Try Face ID Again]. I am not offered the choice of inputting my PIN number no matter how long I wait.
As another test, I sleep my iPhone, place my finger over the notch to block the camera, and try to open the iPhone. It says [Face ID] for about two seconds then displays the number pad so I can enter using my PIN.
I dunno. Something is amiss here. You would think if you could not access an app using Face ID, you would be offered the chance to input your PIN, but that is not universally the case.
