Apple Music cannot connect to internet (download stops with error 7506, pages say offline)

Though I have full Internet access on my PC (Ethernet as well as Internet), I cannot play Apple Music titles, it just skips the Apple Music titles and plays the first title found in my local music library

When I play the same title in Apple Music Web player (same computer, just in the browser window), it works:

I have already checked all my Apple music settings, it is set to synchronize with icloud everywhere using the same Apple Account. And of course I have an Apple music Abo.

I had the same problem in itunes, before I installed Apple Music on my Windows 11 PC. After some synchronization time, the music library disappeared from itunes and was only visible in Apple Music app, I was hoping, that the problem disappears now, but same problem there.

I also disabled the Windows Defender firewall and checked, if Apple Music is listed in the allowed application, nothing helped.

Sometimes when I open Apple Music app, it even doesn't load my local library, and it says "You are offline", even though I can access the Internet using other apps on the same PC, see below screenshot:

I got the same problem for more than a year now. Do you use a personal computer or is it a company managed computer?

Someone posted a solution here: Error 7506 when downloading music using A… - Apple Community

I tried this solution once too, but it didnt worked for me. Maybe it will work for you. Let me know if it fixed your problem because then I will try this again.

Hello floriwan,

maybe I got a solution for you since the first solution I mentioned to you also didnt worked for me.

I found this one on reddit and also on apple later. This fixed my problem. The ProgramData folder is hidden. So you need to show it.

STEP 1 : Delete All the files and folders in C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes

STEP 2: Close Apple Music and re-open it

Hi, thanks for your reply. It is my personal computer, no VPN active, all Network connections fine (running without problem). I was using itunes before, but I don't want to delete my whole music library, because I fear I will lose my files (local MP3 and M4A) or at least my ratings and favorites there. What does it mean, delete music library? Select all and delete? Or delete a file (formerly itues was using "iTunes Library.itl" file, is this still used by Apple Music?

HERE IS THE SOLUTION

I found this on Reddit and later on Apple from user ‘Apple_Andy’ This solved my problem.

The ProgramData folder is hidden. So you need to show it.

STEP 1 : Enable showing hidden folders.

STEP 2 : Delete all files and folders in C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes

STEP 3 : Switch Apple Music off and on again

After that, the problem is solved for me.

Let me know if your problem has been resolved.
