Can’t locate friends through find my app

I had the iPhone 14 Pro Max which I had my friends on the app and I could see them. Though this summer I lost that phone and got the 14 pro. I logged into my account and got everything set up but on the find my app I don’t see the people tab. When friends request to see my location I accept it but it doesn’t do anything for me nor for them. I deleted the old device from my iCloud but still nothing happens. What can I do?
