iPadPro icloud backup painfully slow and never completes
My wife's iPadPro (3rd gen - iOS 18.1.1) is great but her iCloud backup is just terrible. She's always had trouble with it. It is both terribly slow and often hangs around halfway and just stays there "backing up" for days (if left to on it's own) without ever really finishing.
Apple tech & user groups have blamed it on storage being full, wifi problems, full moon, etc. Nothing mentioned anywhere appears to be the cause.
Only two things, I figure, may related to the issue:
One is she can leave the iPad alone for days only to find her iPad is dead. So she has a habit of turning off wifi, cell data and bluetooth to reduce battery drain. But there are some hints in comments of similar issues other people have had that doing this could mess with the regular iCloud backups that prefer to "sip" rather than surge the backup process.
The other is her iPad is primarily used for Procreate work and that progress bar is not an authentic representation of the backups of her Procreate database - what appears to be hanging is just the iPad not really factoring in 3rd party apps data files into the backup process and they just take FOR-E-VER. But I have no confirmation of either of these.
Would appreciate some help.
If she lost her artwork (theft, damage, etc.) we would both be devastated if the cloud did not back her beautiful artwork up.
Thank you for any help
