How to control Magic Mouse pairing on iMac and MacBook

We have a iMac and a Macbook, each with a Magic Mouse. How can I stop the Magic Mouse for one operating the other when both are running?

This behavior might be due to a feature called Universal Control.

Universal Control: Use a single keyboard and mouse between Mac and iPad - Apple Support

"Use the keyboard, mouse, or trackpad of your Mac to control up to two other nearby Mac or iPad devices, and work seamlessly between them."

You may want to check that the "Allow your pointer and keyboard to move between any nearby Mac or iPad" setting mentioned in the second Support article is turned off on both Macs.
