IOS Mail sub folder issue

My IOS Mail Sub folders are all set up in my Yahoo account. I use this setup because Yahoo gives me virtually unlimited storage.

When I move mail with attachments from my inbox to one of the sub folders I see this in IOS mail:

“This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program. multipart/mixed”.

If I look at the item in the Yahoo Mail app sub folder it is correct, including attachments.

Same issue in my iPad Air 6 and my iPhone 14. Any ideas why this occurs?

Can you move what ever is in the sub folder back to the main folder on the server and then delete the sub folder and re-create the sub folder on the serve and move what you previously move back to the main folder back to the newly created sub folder and see if it works on the Mail app.

I hear ya, but that’s a pain in the butt. I have many items in the sub folders. Last year, per a suggestion, I deleted the yahoo account from iOS Mail and then added it back. It took days to get all of the items back and the issue persisted anyway. I may have to move all sub folders and all kept emails to my Google account. I pay them for extra storage anyway. I have multiple email accounts which I use for different purposes. I’ve had a Yahoo account forever and never got rid of it even though I rarely use it to send mail. I have used the account at multiple places and apps for more than 20 years - before the iPhone and iPad existed. I guess for now I’ll have to use the Yahoo Mail app directly when looking for a saved item in a sub folder.

I would go to Yahoo and log into your account on a browser and see if you can find it on the server.

Thanks. If I go to my Yahoo account on a browser every looks fine, same as it does with the Yahoo app. The problem occurs when I go to a Yahoo sub folder in the Apple Mail app.

Until Mail is fixed you could try Thunderbird or Outlook, though I have never used either with Yahoo.
