"iOS 18 broke Control4 Airplay/Shareplay"

The headline says it all. Since upgrading my iPhone to iOS 18 (and 18.1) AirPlay doesn't play nice with my Control4 speakers. They show up on the list to choose from I can select them, but even when they are supposedly checked, the Music (from Apple Music) plays only through the iPhone (a 14 Pro Max).

Has anyone else had this (or better yet solved) this issue?

I'm also having AirPlay issues since iOS18. In my case I can connect to and play over AirPlay to my Denon AVR but the volume control slider within music or the volume up/down buttons on the phone don’t work. Instead I have to go to the Denon app to control the volume from there. With iOS 17 and earlier the volume controls functioned as expected when using AirPlay.
