Messages App missing after iOS 15.1 Update in iPhone 12

I uploaded the latest update 18.1 on my iPhone 12 and the message icon disappeared from the general menu, when trying to forward pictures I keep getting error messages that iMessage has to be activated for pictures to be forwarded. Tried shutting down phone etc and wont return messages app to general settings. Seems to be glitch in update, does anyone out there know how to fix this? Thank you
