Slow Ethernet speed on MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip

I have MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip.

I get around 300-400 mbps when connected via wifi (not very fast wap)

but when I connect it directly into the router via 3.0 type-c to ethernet adapter I only get up to 100 mbps no matter what I do.

I thought maybe it's the adapter issue. But when I use it with my other laptop(windows) I get 800+ mbps(almost the max of what I get from isp)

What can be the issue?

What adapter are you using? Not all adapters will work with Macs even if they work well with a Windows PC.

Have you also tried using another USB-C port on the laptop especially on the other side if available?

Make sure to disconnect all other external devices just in case one of them is causing a problem.

Connect the Ethernet adapter directly to the computer since some docks/hubs can cause issues as well.

Have you tried rebooting the laptop? Or tried it while booted into Safe Mode?
