I recently traveled outside of Trinidad, and upon return, could not get my iMessage / FaceTime reactivated with my local phone number. It has been over 2 weeks, and i'm still unable to regain access with my phone number, I've had to use my email address to use iMessage/FaceTime.
Numerous calls to bmobile/TSTT have gone from them being unaware of the issue, to saying that the issue is affecting both carriers in Trinidad (Digicel as well, which is not true). Last conversation today Dec 24, they acknowledged there is a widespread issue affecting bmobile, but that it is an Apple issue.
I've had several calls to Apple as well, which have done checks, and stated that there are no issues on their end, and it must be a carrier issue.
I think someone from Apple needs to reach out to the carrier (bmobile) to investigate the issue and work toward a resolution.
This also isn't the first time this has happened (there was a similar widespread issue in 2023).
Apple needs to revise the convoluted activation process for iMessage/ Facetime. I've never had an issue with Whatsapp activations.
I have created a ticket with bmobile for the issue.
