Deleting photos from iPhone but keeping them in icloud

Hi,

Is there any way to keep a complete back up of photos in iCloud, and add the existing photos on your phone without deleting any?

I don’t like having thousands of photos on my phone and so I have iCloud photo sharing turned off. I’m too scared to turn it back on because will it then delete (from iCloud) all of the photos I’ve deleted off of my iPhone?

Is there any way to upload the photos on my phone to iCloud, delete them off of my phone and then the next time I go to upload more photos making sure none are deleted from iCloud?

I'm so confused but getting very frustrated as I’ve got barely any memory left on my phone and heaps in my iCloud!!

Photo Deletion:

If they are uploaded to iCloud, then the are going to stay there (until you run out of storage). So, as long as they are uploaded, then they will be recoverable from iCloud, even if you delete it from your iPhone. As for accessing hem, get them here: https://www.icloud.com/photos
