Sharing Mac Location on Find My Issue

I've enabled location services, signed into iCloud for find my, and I see my current location and Macbook location in the app. However, whenever I go to the people > me tab, and press the info icon, it says Sharing location from "No Active Device" and doesn't give the option to share with contacts. I see my Mac in the devices tab, so I don't understand why it won't work. Any help appreciated because I'm trying to share with my friends. Thanks!
