I just got my battery replaced (at an Apple store) but now my wifi reception is really bad
I got my battery replaced in my MacBook Air M2 at an Apple store, came back home and my wifi reception is terrible. I suspect something happened with the antenna:
While in line of sight to my AP (Orbi RBR850):
- about 8ft away I get 50% signal, 16% noise, barely 20 Signal-to-noise ratio.
- about 3ft away I get 75% signal, 16% noise, about 35 Signal-to-noise ratio.
Overall, I'm losing 25% signal by just moving 5 ft further from the AP. Bandwidth drops dramatically as well.
If I walk away about 20ft, I can't even connect to my wifi network, I get the WPA2/3 password prompt and it's not connecting anymore.
Can they mess up with the antenna while replacing a battery?!
