MacBook Air wont connect to internet and won’t update

My MacBook Air says I am connected to the internet but I cannot access anything that needs WiFi. When I try to update it, the update check box says “Unable to check for updates”, and an error code pops up. It reads “NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.”

The simplest thing to try first is to boot up your Mac in Safe Mode, and then, try updating it again.

FYI ... The "NSURLErrorDomain error -1012" typically indicates an issue with authentication or security settings that can prevent your Mac from reaching certain internet resources, even though it's technically "connected" to Wi-Fi. This can happen due to issues with network configurations, system preferences, or even problems on the router side.
