Messages not syncing?

Messages on my Macbook Pro and three iMacs all show a small red cloud with a large number indicating a bunch of unread messages. However, I do the majority of messaging on my iPhone and have read all the messages that the red cloud is showing as unread. This behavior just started in the last few days. I've performed all the usual ministrations to no avail. Ideas?
