How to use Safari Mac desktop on iPhone 12 ProMax

i have iPhone 12 Pro Max with ICloud storage , I use Safari browser , I prefer it over Google Search! But whenever I’m opening the Safari app it is delayed and constantly goes to Google ! I have to sign out of Gmail & then go to Safari , it’s causing problems. I also have to sign on to safari web browser on Mac to get the layout I prefer and the right look / update iOS 18.01 for Safari , otherwise it reverts back to an old android version from Google Android. Yeah I know stinking confusing ! No I do not have android devices & im not signed in on any device either that is ! Nor am I signed in on google account under computer , or any area that would cause it ( my browser to change like that ) I have checked my iCloud files /folders , deleted old ones , including old bookmarks , saved page. Reading info which most of all those things have been set to auto delete after 1day to 1 week , but I usually automatically delete myself upon closing out the page myself and do not save anything ! What I do save I just copy paste from screen shots! I do not keep links or tap on things I do not know or need to mess with ! I’ve gone over things with a fine tooth comb and eagle eye ! Things have been updated, and I am a minimalist ‼️ I don’t use what I don’t need ! Including apps !

I do have a lot of storage for files & photos . I have to use my iPhone for ALOT of files for yearly recertification files , docs and keeping copies & sending them to the right people . That’s why I like to use Safari in desktop mode . But it’s been giving me problems , I know I can use my MS acct apps in desktop mode if I download the Windows ios App for iPhone but I don’t want to because I have a different Documents Applications set up already and if I can figure Out The Desktop Situation with IOS Mac version on my iPhone , then that’s one less app I need to use and add on !

I’m stuck using my iPhone until I can afford a new Tablet or laptop .

I’ve syncd my acct info to my iPhone , so that’s why I’m using iPhone in this way . Please suggestions?

What you're describing is not entirely clear to me. The Safari browser app does not have its own built-in search algorithm. Instead, it uses the search engine specified in Settings > Apps > Safari > Search Engine. If you chose Google as your preferred Search Engine, that's what Safari will use. You can choose among the other four.

The other concerns are not related to that particular setting, but I understand you would prefer Safari to load the desktop version of a webpage instead of the page optimized for a mobile browser (which is its default setting). To do that for any particular website, refer to Customize your Safari settings on iPhone - Apple Support, and follow the steps for See what the webpage looks like on a desktop computer.

Perhaps that will get you started in the right direction.
