Connecting 13" MacBook Pro to a Dell Monitor via CalDigit USB hub

I am using Sequoia on my 13" MacBook Pro with M2 chip. When I connect a Dell U2412M to the laptop via a CalDigit USB hub, using Display Port to Display Port, the monitor connects and disconnect constantly. I'm trying to Mirror the displays and have also tried Extended display, but nothing seems to help.

Has anyone else tried his setup? Do I need to get another Hub?

Thanks in advance. Scott

I think he's saying that the longer the cable, the more likely you are to have problems.

In other threads, he's mentioned that recent versions of macOS are intolerant of transmission errors, as in, they don't want to see any – and will cut resolution and/or video signal when errors are reported.

Short cables are less likely to lead to transmission errors than really long ones.

Quite right, thanks for elaborating.

We know what the limitations are at the very high end, when everything struggles to stay together near the limit of the capabilities of this sort of digital logic, to get an error-free picture. Yours data rates are more modest, but the same sorts of limits would be Prudent to apply, even at more modest data rates.
