Pages file saves as a PNG file for each page when I export to Word

Running macOS Sequoia 15.01 and Pages 14.2.

When I attempt to export an existing Pages document via File->Export to->Word..., instead of a DOCX file I get a folder which contains one PNG image file for each page of text.

This occurs with Pages documents which have no images. By way of example, I created a new Pages document and typed "This is a test" and then attempted to export to as delineated above, I get a folder with one PNG file which when opened is of a white page with the text "This is a test"

Although this does not happen with me using Pages v14.2 on macOS Sequoia v15.1, it certainly is happening with others. No fix is apparent at this time after assisting others through a multitude of procedures for that purpose. The Pages and/or macOS product teams will need to resolve this issue.

If your goal in producing a Word document was to share with other users of MS Word, then export your Pages document to PDF, as anyone with Word v16.31 or later can open and convert that PDF into a Word DOCX document.
