Factory installed OS for M4 mini

I can confirm the M4 Mac Mini I received arrive with, Out of the Box, Sequoia 15.0 Build 24A8332.

Initial setup, on first boot immediately offered an update, do later.

@VikingOSX reported elsewhere that his M4 Pro Mini updated to 15.1 during installation. He didn't say what version was preinstalled ...it could have been either 15.0 or 15.0.1 and there may not have been any way to know at the time.

I looked up the build number for 15.1 and it's 24B83

FWIW, Sequoia 15.2 Beta 2 build 24C5073e became available Nov. 2 but that would not have been on a production Mini.

It is a custom build of macOS v15.0 or v15.0.1 and after setup, one can install v15.1 from Software Update. Sorry, but I did not check the macOS version or build number after I received it.

I received my Mac Mini M4 pro and it stated it was at 15.1 but then notified me to update to 15.1 which I did but did it after downloading in about 3 minutes so I assume it did not require a full redo on the 15.1. Probably a special version of 15.1 came with the unit.

Custom would be to support the new M4 Mini hardware and newer third-party chips not present in v15.0/.01 on earlier M3 hardware.

My new Mini, showed 15.0, with an available update to 15.1 that only took a few minutes at max (I got myself a drink after starting the process).

A few minor difference on M4 machine as related to Sequoia 15.1 specifically

M1, M2, M3 with 15.1 is the build number macOS 15.1  ( 24B83 )

M4 is build number  ( 24B2083 )

Also, on M4 Preview is not included in Launchpad

It also presented in " Other " versus Applications
