Just zero Notes! Nothing there. Yikes, I have very important life details there.

Simple Fix:
Open Settings App
Tap your name at the top
Tap iCloud
Look for Notes and turn the switch on, but if on, turn it off, then on again

Thanks. I tried this and many other trouble shooting advice before I posted. The only thing that worked was to delete the Notes app, and reinstall it. Before I deleted it, I logged into iCloud on my computer to ensure that Notes was there... it was. So when I reinstalled the Notes app, the Notes finally pulled back down from the Cloud. Not at first, but after about 10 minutes they pulled in. Jeez! I wonder what the heck happened?

Go to settings > Apple Account (your name) > iCloud > notes
toggle off/on the sync for notes
