Spell Check and Find Text quit working in Keynote and all Mac OS apps

Spell Check and Find Next Text has quit working for Keynote and all mac apps on my 2019 iMac running Sonoma 14.7.1.

All basic spell check settings are set in system prefs and in the apps. I have all the keyboard settings set to auto correct, etc. Spelling and grammar are set to check everything.

I have disabled Grammarly in my Chrome browser. I have restarted. Updated to recent version of Sonoma.

Keynote and Pages does not find missepelled words. The Show Spelling and Grammar function does not find any word that I ask it to find. Messages, Mail, Notes does not spell check either.

All of these apps used to do spell check perfectly, then all of a sudden they all quit.

FYI: my Office 365 apps spell check just fine.
