Apple Watch alarm is not sync with iPhone 12 after updating to iOS 18.1

Previously, regular alarms set on your iPhone would sync to your Apple Watch

After updating, only Sleep/Wake-up alarms sync between devices

Regular alarms no longer sync from iPhone to Watch

You want to use Siri to set flexible daily alarms that sync to both devices.

1) I tried updating both Apple Watch 7 to watch OS 11.1. and iPhone 12 to iOS 18.1.

2) I enabled push alert notification, and it works for sleep alarm (able to sync)

3) Before updating iOS on iPhone 12, when I set the normal alarm (not sleep alarm) on the iPhone, it will also sync with the Apple Watch and snooze. I understand setting the alarm on the watch will not reflect on the iPhone previously, but it works the other way around. But right now, it no longer works; is it changed from Apple?

4) I had checked; both devices are paired properly and tried unpairing and re-pairing my Apple Watch. I restarted both IPhone and apple watch, even reset my apple watch.

Please help!

Synchronize or whatever. It worked before but now it doesn’t work after updating every iOS device. Setting on iPhone should buzz me on watch.

Thank you LD150 for your insights. This was my issue when troubleshooting the iPhone 16 pro (18.2.1) and Apple Watch 7 (11.2) was not playing any alarm. Once I set an alarm and locked the iPhone the alarm was pushed to the Apple Watch. Problem solved. I believe this type of smart interaction is new. As a parent not sure I like this feature as sometimes my kids are using the phone and I still want the alarms synced on both devices.

My girlfriend has an Apple Watch series 8 and iPhone 15 pro but has the exact same issue. For her it was working even more recently and then one day the watch did an automatic update and now the alarm won't sync. We have tried all troubleshooting steps including turning off clock push notifications, restarting the phone, and then turning it back on. We also unpaired the watch, restored it to factory settings, repaired it, and restored from backup. Still nothing! She's incredibly busy all week but we need to find time to visit an Apple Store because I got used to not hearing her alarm in the morning. Would really love a fix that does not require us to leave home.
