How can I retrieve a message that I unsent?

I accidentally sent a message so I hit unsend message because I wanted to edit it. Now it is gone how can I retrieve this????

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18

  • Unsending removes the message from both devices if done within 2 minutes.
  • Editing a messages keeps the message on both devices and allows editing within 15 minutes.
  • You can't edit a message that you unsent.

You can copy the message before unsending if it is something you are going to want to text/edit it again.
