When I click to join the waitlist for apple intelligence, it dodges. Region and language are United States. It should not prevent me from using apple intelligence. Really disappointed about iPhone 16 pro max, poor quality and massive bug issues.

Yes, 16 Pro max with iOS 18.1. I’m in the US where it should have no issue with apple intelligence. Language is also set to United States. It is stuck on preparing status for hours. Now it’s asking me to join the waitlist again. When I click the join the waitlist, it dodges.

Is your Apple Device eligible? Is your device updated to the required iOS version? Are you in a country or region that currently supports Apple Intelligence? I had the same issue. I also have the 16 Pro Max titanium. I had my Siri voice set to Australian, and it would not update. I had to set it to English American for it to update 18.1. Must be updated to your Apple device before you can get the intelligence updates. So in summary, turn on location services, auto update on change language to English American, update to 18.1, restart phone, then apply for Apple Intelligence waitlist. Hope this helps.
Everything is set to English United States for my iPhone. I reached out to Apple senior technical team, but they couldn’t solve the issue. They will need to pass on to an engineer to see if the engineer can help.
Try doing a forced restart of your Apple device and starting again. If you’re not familiar with a forced restart, it’s more than just turning your device off and back on. Please follow the step by step instructions in the Apple Support article I shared below.

I thought I replied but don’t see it. I have the 15pro max, and it’s been a pain for sure. Which iPhone does @everyone think is the better choice? Now I see the 16, I am rethinking if I even want this phone. I got it end of April.
Well you just commented something I had wondered if I had done. I saw 16 pro software to be installed and that’s what I done. I was concerned I screwed up my 15 pro max by updating the software to a 16 pro. I was excited to see or think it turned my 15 into a 16, without upgrading my phone I haven’t a clue in anything technology.
