I am hoping to help a student who has a fear of traveling by doing some mindfulness apps and then exposure therapy to provide a virtual experience of navigating through an airport, getting on/off the plane, and possibly walking around in the specific country where she will be traveling. I know there are some great spatial videos and travel-based apps, but anything specifically for the airplane flight?
I don’t believe that there’s an app that can simulate this, but you can achieve this by simply recording a spatial video of each of these “experiences” you’re hoping to simulate, if you are able to travel there yourself or have someone else do it for you. You can record spatial videos on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 17 or later).
I am using Explore POV to "travel" as I am less inclined to travel at my age and I have engaged with the developer about suggestions for places to take his immersive spacial videos (they are shot on a Canon spacial camera (almost 180 degrees - so better than iphone or the headset) and are amazing (though large...). James (the App developer) travels to places across the globe and films places so he might be willing to add some videos on airports, or on the plane etc. He is very responsive and committed to helping prople with disabilities.
