I just got a new MacBook Pro M3 Max with Sequoia 15.1, After couple hours of setting it up. I realized that my MacBook just keeps on searching for nearby devices and doesn’t show the BLUETOOTH devices that are in range. NEED HELP!
I’ve tried going to the terminal and typing "sudo pkill bluetoothd” and restarting, but that didn’t work.

What type of bluetooth devices are in range exactly?
Are the nearby devices unpaired and set to discoverable mode?
Note: that it won't find or connect to iPhones, iPads, iPods or other Macs or PCs.

How old blu-tooth are Bose headsets? I ask because over the years I noticed something wrong with Bluetooth. It always seem when new device with updated Bluetooth will only speak with devices with only one generation of older Bluetooth devices! If the device is more than three old you might never be able to use it again! That’s when I decided to go with only wired headphones now!
My MacBook Air (Sequoia 15.1) does not see my I-Phone 15 (iOS 18.1.1) (Bluetooth). It can see all other devices around!, e.g., my Bose headset but not my-I-Phone. My I-Phone can see my Mac but not the other way around - this sucks!

Macs and iPhones cannot pair over bluetooth. There is no reason or point to them seeing each other in bluetooth settings and it is fine if they do not.
Most things that require bluetooth between a Mac and an iPhone do not require they paired.
Turns out I could connect to my stereo. I just can't connect to my Bose headphones which my MacBook air could do.
Are your Bose headphones unpaired from your MacBook Air and set to pairing mode per their own instructions?
