iOS 18.1 message emoji showing as text in Spanish

When I click on an emoji on a text message sent to me, the sender also with an iPhone receives a text notification from me in Spanish. This started happening after the 18.1 upgrade. My Language & Region is English for the iPhone. I also have French, Portuguese, Swedish, Spanish and Italian. Could this be a new keyboard bug if you have multiple languages set?

Check the “return” key on the lower right corner of your keyboard and the language in use on the space bar. Your emoji responses will be in that language.

Tap the “globe” icon on the lower left corner to change to your preferred language.

It is a super easy fix but apparently no one is bothering to read the comment that already explained how.

Down on your spacebar you will see tiny little letters. I have Italian on mine so my spacebar will say EN IT. If you have spanish it may say EN SP or something.

If it has IT EN first I know if I thumbs up or heart or whatever someone's text that has an android, it will send it to them in Italian. So check your spacebar. If it has EN first you're good, if it has something else, long hold your space bar, then click the little globe icon on the left. Your spacebar will display the languages, then it will switch to EN IT (or whatever your other language is) and then you are good. Just make sure EN is first on the spacebar and you wont have any issue

My text messages are coming across in English, but my "thumbsup" and "likes" are coming across in Italian. I originally thought it was only happening to Android users, but my daughter just asked the other day if my like was supposed to be in Italian! I'm on 18.3.1 and my iPhone language is English.I'm not getting rid of Italian because I use it all the time.....I just now let people know it's in Italian ha ha.
