Universal control Fix!

If you’re reading this, it seems like your Universal Control was acting a bit iffy—all of a sudden, right? After some trial and error, I think I’ve found a fix that should work.

Basically, your MacBook Air (MBA) or MacBook Pro (MBP), acting as the “sender,” might have a firewall blocking incoming connections from other devices. An update could’ve messed with the settings along the way.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Go to Network > Firewall (make sure it’s on to make changes).
  2. Click Options and then the ‘+’ icon to add a new configuration.
  3. Navigate to Macintosh > System > Library > CoreServices > Universal Control and open it.

Add it to the list, and things should start working smoothly! Just thought I’d share. 😊

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work on my MacBook Air 2023/MacStudio combination. I also tried turning the Firewall off completely on both machines, but that didn't work either. After a few seconds, the cursor remains stuck on one or the other screens. I think we'll need to wait for an update from Apple.
