Check your HDMI cable and also update your Apple TV 4K device to have the most up-to-date version of TV OS. Finally ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal where the Apple TV is physically located. I don't mean the Internet speed, I am referring to the strength of the signal once your router sends it throughout your home. You can use tools such as iStumbler to measure signal strength. If you find your signal is weak, that would mean you need to upgrade your network or move the router closer to the Apple TV.
It is not the whole Apple TV device that plays up - just the Appletv+ app.
Unplug the Apple TV device from its power source for 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and re-try Apple TV +. If that does not work, then do the suggestions offered in my initial post.
