Contact your wireless carrier or visit their website. Apple will only remove the lock if they accidentally replace an unlocked unit with a locked one.
The people on these boards are mostly other customers and can't unlock it in any case.

I’m aware. I guess the point was that Apple can not initiate the unlock and contacting Apple to do so is a waste of time.
