Trying to erase iphone 11 but won't let me log out

I am trying to erase my iphone 11 but it won't let me log out of apple id. It says, enter the Apple ID password for xxx to turn off Find my iphone. When I enter the password it thinks for awhile and then gives me this error message: Verification failed, The operation couldn't be completed (AK Authentication error error 7005)
