I am able to register cards in Apple Pay. When I select one card to pay with, I select Pay with Passcode and a message comes up Double click to pay with an area flashing where I am to double click to pay, but I only see the edge of the area I need to double click on. I don't get to where I can indicate an amount.

You double click the side button, not an area of the screen.
