Need to transfer photos from iPad mini1 to anywhere to save them

I have an iPad mini1 that has 425 or so photos on it. I want to save them to my laptop or iCloud or somewhere where I won't lose them because they only exist on this iPad. I tried to log into iCloud but the iPad won't accept my login and password even though I'm entering it correctly. I've tried to airdrop but it doesn't work. it shows it as an option but when I click it the screen just sits there. I've connected the iPad to my laptop and it keeps saying to unlock the iPad and it's not locked. any suggestions appreciated
