Siri not allowing me to select Messages as txt app

Hi all

I have two apps on my Iphone 16 pro which I use for messges. There is Whatsapp and the std Iphone Messages ( txt ) app .

For years now Siri has worked fine with these .....so if I say "Siri text Bob" it will let me dictate the message and then send . ( this is whilst using Carplay) .

Now if I say "Siri text bob" it asks me which app do I want to use. I say "Messages" or even "Text Messages" ...at which point Siri just closes down and doesnt do anything.

If I do it on the phone ( NOT carplay) , it still asks me which app I want to use and seems to work.

I really need Carplay to work like it did.

Any ideas ?
