Why does the name on my iMac keep changing? It used to do this a few years ago but has started again after the new update. it's just called Jane's computer but adds a number in brackets. This is causing issues with my large photo library which is held on a separate hard drive as it says it is being moved.

It's because different duplicate connections are being attempted...
Apple menu > System Settings > General > About. Select the current name and type a new one.
Earlier OSes... Apple menu > System Preferences > Network ? Computer name > Edit or type a new one.
