Macbook Password Authenticator

My Macbook Pro seems to automatically use my Apple Watch as the default Password Authenticator instead of Touch ID. Is there anyway to make it use Touch ID?

You can turn off that functionality so that the Apple Watch is no longer used to authorize access:

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
  2. In the sidebar, click Touch ID & Password (or Login Password, depending on your Mac model).
  3. In the Apple Watch section on the right, turn off the setting for your Apple Watch.
