I have one pinned Messages thread that will not notify me of new messages with a sound

I got the new iPhone a couple weeks ago. I have one pinned text thread that will not notify me of new texts with a sound. Alerts are not silenced for this thread and I’ve restarted my phone several times. It only affects this one thread.


Any advice? Thank you.
